As long as she can remember, Carmen Hobson has loved horses. From the time she was very young, she bugged her father on a daily basis about buying her a horse. When her family moved to Oregon in 1972, she succeeded in coercing her dad to buy her a pony. Undeterred from the weekly tossing she received from this bratty pony, Carmen loved what she learned on a daily basis. With several tough instructors in her younger years, she became a versatile rider and showman, competing in divisions from western and hunter pleasure, to trail, jumping, and driving. At age 13, she was introduced to Morgans, and the breed has remained hers since then.

Kane Creek Morgans was opened in 1992, and this was a dream come true for Carmen. She was able to dabble into breeding, teach young riders, and enjoy the showring. She is also an avid trail rider, but don't volunteeer to ride with her if you are faint of heart! "Steep and Deep" is her mantra, and there are few places she won't venture. She also has competed in the Mountain Trail Championships with her home-bred gelding, Kane Creek Truth or Dare, winning a much sought after title in her division. Rides on the Oregon Coast have been an annual favorite of hers, and she's the one egging on the clients to "ride like the wind", and "come on, ride faster!".
Carmen loves the outdoors, and you'll find her doing just about anything in nature such as hiking, water skiing, and scuba diving. With her move to Montana we expect some ice fishing, snowboarding and snowmobiling, as well as a lot of swimming in the lake during the summer months.
Warm and friendly to all, Carmen is easy to talk to, and always there to lend a hand when needed. Give her a call sometime, as she loves to make new acquaintences!

Wes Hobson
Wes is the goofball of the family, and always has those around him in stitches. He's as gregarious as they come, and completely supportive of his wife and her horsey endeavors.
Wes learned to ride after he met Carmen, and although he has no desire to show, he is quite the trail rider, bucking up like no one else can when she takes him on wild rides into Never-Never Land! He enjoys the same interests as Carmen, so their outdoors adventures are shared together. Wes is also an avid fisherman, and now that they live by a lake, he plans on getting in lots of fishing days. Wes also enjoys woodworking, and has recently decided to try and do some biking. With endless miles to ride, it was an easy new venture for him.

With a new barn to build, he is busy with completing things, and will soon be wanting to explore the countryside. Glacier Park, the Jewel Basin, and the Bob Marshall Wilderness are all beckoning to be explored, so if you can't find Wes at home, you may need a GPS locator to track him down!
